on a question below. You will be taken to the applicable
answer.
How can I buy tickets?
Tickets are sold at ARTS TIX, located at Horton
Plaza in Downtown San Diego, ARTS TIX North,
located at the San Diego North Convention and vicitors
bureau in Downtown Escondido, and on the internet.
Tickets are sold on the day of show unless otherwise
noted. The selection of shows changes daily and is listed
on this site and on our hotline at (619) 497-5000. You
can sign up to receive FREE daily e-mails listing all
half-price shows available through ARTS TIX. Click here
to sign up for the ARTS TIX
Today e-mail. Shows do sell out throughout the day
and we don't update the list when this happens.

When
can I get tickets?
Many tickets are sold in advance at the discretion of
the producing company. Half-price tickets are sold on
the day of the show, unless otherwise noted. The ARTS
TIX Booth is open Tuesday through Thursday, 11:00am
to 6:00pm; Friday and Saturday from 10:00am to 6:00pm
and Sunday from 10:00am to 5:00pm. ARTS TIX North
is open Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 5:00pm.
ARTS TIX Online hours are from
6:00pm
the day before the show, until approximately an hour
before the show or when we close the day of the show,
whichever comes first. Tuesday shows
go on sale Sunday at 5:00pm. Monday shows
go on sale Saturday at 6:00pm and are taken off sale
Sunday at 5:00pm. Matinees: Events
taking place before 5:00pm go on sale the day before
to allow for purchasing time. ARTS TIX has many tickets
that are sold in advance, and tickets may go off sale
at any time. Individual sales periods can vary;
see the event description for more details.
ARTS TIX will close for select holidays.

Why
can't I exchange my tickets?
The majority of theatre companies and ticket outlets
in the country maintain the policy that all sales
are final - there are no refunds and no exchanges, reserving
exchange privileges as a subscriber benefit. Your tickets
are not processed through the venue box office. They
do not have a record of the sale on their computer system,
didn't collect money from you and can't make any changes
to your order. We apologize for any inconvenience.

to top of page)
What
is the service charge?
To help operate ARTS TIX, a per ticket
service charge will be added to each ticket sold. These
charges are included in the prices listed and range
from $1.50 - $7.00 per ticket, depending on ticket price.
This small fee goes directly back to the local arts
community through programs offered by the San Diego
Performing Arts League. Online sales are subject to
an additional per order fee, which is generally
$3.00. The order fee for tickets on sale through Ticketmaster
varies. Some charges may vary and all charges are subject
to change without notice.
(back
to top of page)
Why
aren't the discounted tickets really half price?
All tickets include a service charge. The prices listed
in our e-mails, phone recording, and show boards at
the booth include all service charges. For more on service
charges, click here.

Will
I get better seats if I buy online or at the ARTS TIX
booth?
The tickets you get online would be comparable to those
available in person at the ARTS TIX
booth. However, tickets go on sale online before they
are available at the ARTS TIX Booth.
Availability is always subject to change.

to top of page)
How
do I know where I am sitting?
When you buy tickets in person at ARTS TIX,
we will show you a map detailing the best available
seat location. If you buy online for most of the venues
you are able to choose your own seat from the tickets
available. If there are reserved seats, the section,
row and seat numbers will be displayed on the screen.
Most theatres' websites can be found on the League
members section of this site. Remember that once
you pull up tickets online, you have a time limit to
complete your order.
(back
to top of page)
How
do I pick up my tickets when I buy online?
When you buy online, your tickets will be held at will
call at the venue's box office before the event. The
theatre will have your information approximately a half
hour before curtain. Make sure to take your printed
confirmation email with you to present at the box office
in exchange for your tickets. Your confirmation page
will serve as your receipt and as your proof of purchase.
(back
to top of page)
Why
didn't I get a confirmation screen at the end of my
order?
You have a time limit to complete your order (each screen
on the ARTS TIX site designates this time limit). If
you don't complete your order in that time, the tickets
are released and you have to start over again. You may
not use the site to "hold" tickets. If you
completed the order in less than the time allotted,
please try again - the site may be experiencing unusually
high traffic or you might be having a connection error
(AOL users sometimes have a slow proxy connection).
If your credit card is declined, contact your credit
card company, not ARTS TIX or Ticketmaster.

Why
can't I proceed past the first Ticketmaster screen?
If you are buying a Ticketmaster ticket from ARTS TIX
and can't get past this page, try selecting a different
price level from the pull down menu, or reducing the
number of tickets you are trying to purchase. If this
doesn't work, the event may be sold out or all tickets
may have been pulled off sale by the theatre. Also remember
that tickets are only available during Online
hours. In addition, make sure that you have java
enabled and that you are able to use a secure form (check
your internet settings).

I
got a confirmation screen, but when I got to the box
office there weren't any tickets for me.
As a security measure, we verify that the address
given on the Internet matches the information on file
with your credit card company. If a discrepancy is found,
we will attempt to contact you. If we are unable to
contact you, YOUR ORDER WILL BE CANCELLED! If
your order is cancelled, you will not be able to purchase
half price tickets at the theatre. Please verify your
billing information before placing an order.

I
forgot the ARTS TIX/Ticketmaster Redemption Code. What
can I do?
The
ARTS TIX Redemption Code for Ticketmaster
orders is WTIX.

How
to Buy Online
Tickets
are on sale at 6:00pm
the evening before the show, until approximately
an hour before the show or when we close the
day of the show, whichever comes first. Tuesday shows
go on sale Sunday at 5:00pm. Events
taking place before 5:00pm go on sale the day before
to allow for purchasing time.
If
you have questions about how to buy tickets or how to
use ARTS TIX Online, send an e-mail to artstix@sdpal.com.
Please allow at least one business day for an answer,
as volume can be heavy.
Shows
that can be purchased online are listed on the Ticket
Listing page. From the ARTS TIX list, click
the button for "Buy Tickets" next to the show
that you wish to attend. If there is only a telephone
symbol next to the event you are looking for
that means that either the theatre has decided not to
allow online sales and they are only available in person
at ARTS TIX or ARTS TIX North
or that the tickets must be purchased from
another page. Click on the shows title for a description
of the event and instructions on how to purchase tickets.
After
you have chosen your show you simply choose your seat
in the price level you prefer, put it in your shopping
cart and create an ARTS TIX account. (This past step
is only needed your first time purchasing tickets.)
You
will be sent a confirmation email which you should print
out and bring to the performance venue to pick
up your tickets the night of the performance. Please
note, the confirmation will have the venue's name, but
not the address. You may find information about the
venue by clicking on the venue's name on your confirmation
or by visiting our or the theatre's Web site.
It
is that simple! Enjoy the show!
