The League provides a collective voice for the arts by engaging the business, political and arts communities in meaningful dialogue and activities to heighten awareness of the arts and foster collaboration to maintain a vital cultural capital in San Diego County.

SDPAL actively advocates to elected and civic leaders on issues that impact our members. Arts funding, censorship, city development, zoning, arts education, business support, and media coverage are some issues that affect the arts.

The League is a founding member of the California Arts Advocates and the San Diego Regional Arts and Culture Coalition.

SAN DIEGO REGIONAL ARTS AND CULTURE COALITION
The San Diego Regional Arts & Culture Coalition was founded in 1989 as a collaborative entity of member arts and culture organizations in San Diego County. It has grown from an early membership of 60 organizations to its current broad regional coalition of nearly 100 members. The mission of the Coalition is to advocate for funding and support for arts and culture throughout San Diego County, to build awareness of the value of arts and culture throughout San Diego, and to serve as an information resource.
