LA JOLLA MUSIC SOCIETY JOB DESCRIPTION — SummerFest Workshop Coordinator (Seasonal)
Position : SummerFest Workshop Coordinator Department : Production and Education Reports to: Production and Education Manager Status: Seasonal Contract Salary: Stipend SUMMARY Please note this is a seasonal position for August 2008 The Workshop Coordinator oversees the preparation and presentation of all Coaching Workshops at the Riford Library, and assists with management of Fellowship Artist schedules. The Coordinator will also represent SummerFest at community education events involving the Fellowship Artists and other artists from the roster. SummerFest runs from August 1-24, 2008, and the Workshop Coordinator will need to be available as of the last week of July. Some evening and weekend work may be required. Responsibilities for the position include: communicating with artists and coaches about workshop schedule; introducing artists and coaches to the public audience on a daily basis; acting as house manager for the workshops; and tracking of attendance. The Workshop Coordinator may also represent La Jolla Music Society at community outreach events and will need to organize artist participation in those events. We are seeking a responsible, highly organized person with excellent communication skills . The best candidates will be comfortable and experienced with public speaking, and would ideally have a background in classical music. Proficiency in Microsoft Office software and working understanding of databases is preferred.
